Art Walks

These guided art walks offer a unique way of experiencing the Arts. The itineraries are diverse from visiting artist run galleries, back yard studios, public art, workshops and creative spaces to curated walks in site-specific locations. Artists are invited to talk or respond through their practice at each site. Each art walk is one to two hours in duration and offers an opportunity for creative discussion with like-minded individuals.

Brunswick Street Art Walk 1

  • Corner of Gertrude and Brunswick Streets Fitzroy, VIC, 3065 Australia (map)

This art walk is part of Brunswick Street All Out. A day of events, workshops and activities in retail stores along Brunswick St, Fitzroy.

We will begin walk at the corner of Gertrude and Brunswick Streets ( Atherton Gardens side) where the Soup Van has been providing meals for the under privileged for many years. Our first stop is Panelpop, specialising in up cycled art surfaces. We continue down a local lane way abundant in colourful and bold graffiti. We drop into PG Printmaker Gallery, operating since 1975 specialising in exclusive prints. A little detour to see street art on a grand scale. We finish at The Ownership Project, promoting artistic and cultural development of refugee, new migrant and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists. A great one hour introduction to the Fitzroy art scene.*
